Sheriff's deputies responded to the 1000 block of Erika Street early Sunday morning in response to a motor vehicle accident. Units arrived at the scene to find a green Ford Taurus who had apparently struck a tree. The driver of the Taurus, twenty-one year old Arturo Garza III, was found unconscious with a laceration to the head and deputies were forced to shatter a vehicle window in order to gain entry to assist him. Mr. Garza was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for treatment. This case remains under investigation.
