Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-December 29, 2014

Units responded to the Elm Creek sector of Maverick County Sunday evening, at approximately 8:00 PM, after recieving reports of a possible jack-knifed trailer on Highway 277. Deputies at the scene spoke with a Pedro Cerna, the operator of a 2006 Volvo tractor truck, whose box trailer was impeding highway traffic. Mr. Cerna stated he was traveling south on US Highway 277 when he made a left turn onto a property and the trailer's stands got stuck when the floor level dropped. United States Border Patrol officers and Texas Department of Public Safety officers assisted the Maverick County Sheriff's Office with traffic control as a wrecker finally managed to pull the box trailer off of the highway.
