Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-October 5, 2014



Deputies responded to the 4000 block of Siesta Drive on Saturday afternoon, minutes after 1 PM, in reference to reports of a vehicle on fire. Upon arrival deputies observed two vehicles fully engulfed in flames. One vehicle was identified as a 1987 Ford F-350, carrying  a Lincoln welding machine. The second vehicle was later identified as  a 1996 Ford F-250 truck.Contact was made with the owner who said that he had turned on the welding machine and noticed it had a short in it, which set the fire that quickly engulfed both vehicles.

The Eagle Pass Fire Department arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire and Marshals arrived to take over the investigation. Both vehicles did not have any financial responsibility. This case is under investigation by the Eagle Pass Fire Department.
