The Maverick County Sheriff's Office fielded a call regarding a house fire on Sunday, September 14th. Deputy units arrived to the 100 block of Sandalo Street shortly after 3:18 AM and observed smoke billowing from the living room area, where homeowners were found outdoors, attempting to extinguish the fire through a window. Property owner Rosendo Navarro stated he and his family were awakened by the sound of fire alarms. Eagle Pass Fire Department crews arrived at the locale and were able to contain the fire. The value of damages caused by the fire was unknown at the time of report. This case is under investigation by the Eagle Pass Fire Marshal.
