Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-July 26, 2014

Maverick County units responded to assist Texas Department of Public Safety troopers involved in a chase by Main Street and Harold Drive that ended in Mexico Saturday morning, at approximately 2:57 AM.

Upon arrival to port of entry #2, deputies were advised that a 2001 red Ford Focus had already crossed over to Mexico, but had struck a median on the Mexican side of the bridge. Officers from the various law enforcement agencies involved in the chase made their way to the middle of the bridge, where they met with Mexican Port authorites who advised they were taking thirty-nine year old Eagle Pass Resident Abel Garcia into custody for damages caused to the median.
