Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-Deputies responded to FM. 1021 mile marker 554, near the 6 AM hour Saturday morning, in reference to a single motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, deputies noticed a silver 2012 Dodge Avenger in the outer lane of FM 1021. Contact was made with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Jose Rene Ferrer of Eagle Pass, Texas. Mr. Ferrer stated that he was heading home when he fell asleep behind the wheel and woke up when his vehicle impacted the guard rail. Mr. Ferrer refused medical treatment at the time of the report. His vehicle suffered damages to the front right side.
