PRESS RELEASE: Rollover Accident Reported on Eidson Road
Maverick County Sheriff's Office (PRESS RELEASE)-On Thursday January 16, 2014 at 5:32 PM, The Maverick County Sheriff's Office responded to the 1600 Block of Eidson Rd. in reference to a single motor vehicle rollover accident. Upon arrival, officers found a red Pontiac Aztek laying on its driver side, resting on a property fence. Witnesses advised deputies that the Pontiac was traveling at a high rate of speed and appeared to be racing with another vehicle. The driver lost control of the vehicle, skidding to the left, knocking down several yards of fence line before flipping over once and landing on its side. Witnesses also concurred that a male and female were seen exiting the vehicle and leaving the scene of the accident. Deputies observed several beer cans scattered in the vehicle interior and noticed a the strong odor of alcohol emitting from the Pontiac. A search for possible subjects was conducted in the area to no avail. This case remains under investigation.
