Daily Reports-April 13, 2021

 Criminal Trespass/Theft-Units responded to a location on Bella Vista Cricle this morning after a complainant reported a criminal trespass in progress. Two male subjects, twenty-one year old Aaron Mendoza and twenty-five year old Alex Jay Valdez-Fernandez, were located inside the property and investigations revealed the two were stripping vehicles in an attempt to steal engine parts. Contact was made with the owner, who verified the two did not have his consent to be on the property. Mr. Mendoza and Mr. Valdez were placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. This case is under investigation. 

Wanted Person/Possession of Marijuana/Possession of a Controlled Substance-At approximately 8:00 AM this morning, a unit was dispatched to a hotel on FM2030 in reference to an unconscious male subject found laying on the ground. Upon arrival, deputies observed a male subject, later identified as eighteen year old Reynaldo Leija, laying in a hallway. Contact was made with Mr. Leija, who emitted a strong narcotic odor from his person. A background check revealed an active warrant for his arrest out of Del Rio, Texas and Mr. Leija was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. Deputies also encountered a second subject, Joel Saldana, asleep behind the wheel of a Nissan Sentra in the parking lot. Mr. Saldana appeared to be disoriented and had a slurred speech upon contact, where deputies also observed an open container and marijuana residue inside the vehicle. He was later found to be in possession of a controlled substance and marijuana. Saldana was also taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Wanted Person-Deputies this afternoon made contact with City of Eagle Pass Police officers who had encountered a male subject with an active warrant out of Maverick County. The warrant on the subject,  thirty-five year old Martin Alvarado, Jr., was confirmed as active and he was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Assault/Family Violence-A county unit was dispatched to a residence on Valerie Drive this evening after a female complainant revealed she had been physically assaulted by her husband in the midst of a verbal argument. The subject, later identified as forty year old Valentin Hernandez, left the scene in a 1995 Dodge Ram. A vehicle matching the description was located and refused to yield to emergency lights before coming to a complete stop. Hernandez was then placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
