Maverick County Daily Reports-November 27, 2017

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-A deputy responded to the US Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 this morning after agents detained a male subject when he was found in possession of marijuana. Upon arrival, agents advised the deputy approximately 1.56 oz of marijuana were found in the subject's glove compartment. The subject was cited and released.

Assault/Family Violence-A resident on the 100 block of Mesquite told deputies a verbal argument with her boyfriend turned into a physical assault after he began to punch and slap her. The complainant at the time of the report displayed several visible injuries to her facial area. This case is under investigation.

Wanted Person-Alberto Moreno was arrested this afternoon after a background check revealed an active warrant. The warrant was confirmed and Mr. Moreno was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Criminal Mischief-A complaint on Molina loop reported unknown subject(s) had broken two windows to his vehicle with an unknown object.

Wanted Person-Juan Carlos Romo was taken into custody at the Maverick County Adult Probation Department this afternoon after a check revealed an active warrant for his arrest. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Deputies arrested a male subject identified as Alberto Espin, Jr. this evening after a check revealed an active warrant. The warrant was confirmed and Mr. Espin was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Assault/Family Violence/Aggravated Assault-Units responded to the 800 block of Madrono this evening after a male subject advised he had been assaulted by his wife and two brothers in law. The resident further reported the subject had left the area prior to a deputies arrival.
At the same time another deputy was dispatched to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center ER, where a complainant stated he had been hit with a crowbar by his brother in law. The complainant reported he had followed his brother in law into his residence after learning the man had assaulted his sister. The female subject and a second brother arrived at the scene to transport the man to the ER for further medical attention. This case remains under investigation.
