Maverick County Sheriff's Office a Participant in Career Day






[Press Release]Eagle Pass, Texas-Members of the Maverick County Sheriff's Office ere on hand to take part in Career Day around several Eagle Pass Independent School District campuses this week. Officers were given the opportunity to speak about their chosen career paths and fielded questions from students about jail operations and typical criminal case scenarios. The Maverick County Sheriff's Office wishes to thank Armando Cerna Elementary and Memorial Jr. High for the invitation to participate in Career Day and its students and staff for their attentiveness. Maverick County Daily Reports-November 28, 2017

Theft-A resident on the 300 block of Memo Robinson Road made contact with the Maverick County Sheriff's dispatch this morning to report a theft in progress. At approximately 2:12 AM, the complainant reported a male subject had entered his backyard without consent and took an air compressor along with several tools. The subject fled the area in a maroon GMC Yukon prior to a unit's arrival, where it would later be spotted on the 3200 block of Fresno Loop. An investigation found the stolen items inside the vehicle and led to the arrest of twenty-one year old Juan Jaime Stockley. The vehicle in question was taken to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office and the criminal investigations division has taken over the case.

Wanted Person-Juan Manuel Avila was taken into custody at the international port of entry 1 this afternoon after initially being detained by agents when a check revealed an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant was confirmed and Mr. Avila was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-A unit responded to the international port of entry 1 this afternoon after agents detained a male subject whose background check came back with an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant for the subject, identified as Ramon Cisneros, was confirmed. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Maverick County Daily Reports-November 27, 2017

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-A deputy responded to the US Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 this morning after agents detained a male subject when he was found in possession of marijuana. Upon arrival, agents advised the deputy approximately 1.56 oz of marijuana were found in the subject's glove compartment. The subject was cited and released.

Assault/Family Violence-A resident on the 100 block of Mesquite told deputies a verbal argument with her boyfriend turned into a physical assault after he began to punch and slap her. The complainant at the time of the report displayed several visible injuries to her facial area. This case is under investigation.

Wanted Person-Alberto Moreno was arrested this afternoon after a background check revealed an active warrant. The warrant was confirmed and Mr. Moreno was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Criminal Mischief-A complaint on Molina loop reported unknown subject(s) had broken two windows to his vehicle with an unknown object.

Wanted Person-Juan Carlos Romo was taken into custody at the Maverick County Adult Probation Department this afternoon after a check revealed an active warrant for his arrest. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Deputies arrested a male subject identified as Alberto Espin, Jr. this evening after a check revealed an active warrant. The warrant was confirmed and Mr. Espin was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Assault/Family Violence/Aggravated Assault-Units responded to the 800 block of Madrono this evening after a male subject advised he had been assaulted by his wife and two brothers in law. The resident further reported the subject had left the area prior to a deputies arrival.
At the same time another deputy was dispatched to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center ER, where a complainant stated he had been hit with a crowbar by his brother in law. The complainant reported he had followed his brother in law into his residence after learning the man had assaulted his sister. The female subject and a second brother arrived at the scene to transport the man to the ER for further medical attention. This case remains under investigation.


Maverick County Daily Reports-November 25, 2017

DWI/Possession of a Controlled Substance-A unit conducting Stonegarden operations conducted a traffic stop of a 2013 KIA Optima after if was seen swerving in and out of the roadway by Santos Circle this morning. Contact was made with the David Rodriguez, the driver of the vehicle, who emitted a strong alcoholic odor from his person, a slurred speech, and blood shot eyes. Field sobriety tests were given and Mr. Rodriguez performed poorly. A further search of the vehicle yielded the discovery of three clear plastic baggies contianed a white powdery substance with cocaine characteristics in the middle console. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Theft-An employee at the Shell gas station on Highway 277 North reported an unknown male subject had ran out of the store carrying two packs of beer without having payed. A report was filed.

Maverick County Daily Reports-November 24, 2017

Possession of a Controlled Substance/Possession of Marijuana-A deputy patrolling the Eagle Heights area early this morning came a black 2008 Ford Focus found in the middle of roadway on De Leon Street. Contact was made the driver, Mario Alberto Gonzalez, who had fallen sleep behind the wheel of the vehicle while still on drive. Mr. Gonzalez stepped out of the vehicle and a pat down search was conducted, in which he was found to be in possession of a marijuana cigarette and clear baggie containing a white, powdery substance with cocaine characteristics. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. The vehicle was impounded by a local wrecker service.

Wanted Person-Juan Jose Escobar was arrested at the international port of entry #2 this morning after being detained when a check revealed an active warrant. The warrant was confirmed and Mr. Escobar was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Alfredo Castro, Jr. was taken into custody after a background check during a traffic stop revealed an open warrant for his arrest. The warrant was confirmed and Mr. Castro was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Assault/Family Violence-A complainant reported her common law husband had assaulted her in the midst of a verbal argument. The complainant further reported her husband had left the home several hours later in their vehicle. Medical attention was refused at the time of this report.




Maverick County Daily Reports-November 23, 2017

Possession of a Dangerous Drug-Deputies on patrol this morning conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Dodge Avenger for a minor traffic infraction. Contact was made with the occupants of the vehicle and consent to search was given, where with the assistance of a K9, Xanax pills were found along the right side of the rear floorboard. Antonio Viesca was placed under arrest on possession of a dangerous drug charges. The female driver was also cited for operating the vehicle without a license. The vehicle was then turned over to a family member.

Driving Under the Influence-A traffic stop on a vehicle travelling along Brown Street and FM1021 this morning resulted in the arrest of a male subject identified as Christopher Andrew Salinas. Contact was made with Mr. Salinas, who emitted an alcoholic odor from his person. Field sobriety tests were performed, however. Mr. Salinas performed poorly. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Theft-A complainant on thr 3600 block of Bison Drive reported a known female subject had taken approximately $2,000.00 from his bedroom drawer without consent. A report was filed.

Evading Arrest-A County unit conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 Nissan Murano matching the description of a vehicle spotted earlier at the scene of a robbery. The driver of the Murano was immediately detained, however, the passenger, later identified as Alexis Emanuel Gutierrez, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. He was later apprehended on Oaxaca Street. Mr. Gutierrez was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. The driver was taken to the Sheriff's office for investigation purposes.

Possession of a Controlled Substance/Resisting Arrest-Deputies made contact with a male subject identified as Armando Herrera after he was found walking alongside Baltica Street this evening. A pat down search was conducted on Mr. Herrera, where he was found to be in possession of narcotics. He initially resisted arrest before being taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Maverick County Daily Reports-November 21, 2017

Burglary of Habitation-A resident on the 3600 block of Antelope reported an unknown subject(s) had entered her home and took several items without consent.

Assault/Family Violence-County units responded to the 100 block of FM2030 this evening in reference to an intoxicated male subject by the area. Upon  arrival, contact was made with the subject, identified as Juan Vasquez, who was verbally aggressive. Contact was made with others at the scene, who reported a verbal argument had turned physical when he struck his wife with a closed fist. A second person reported Mr. Vasquez being physically aggressive towards her. Mr. Vasquez was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Theft-A complainant reported a known female subject had taken a wallet, purse, and assorted jewelry without consent.

Motor Vehicle Accident/Hit and Run-A deputy responded to Chucho Street this evening after a female complainant reported her father was driving under the influence when he intentionally struck two unoccupied vehicles with his pick up truck before leaving the scene.

Motor Vehicle Accident with non-livestock-A complainant reported exiting the Elm Creek subdivision this evening when a deer appeared and struck the front of his 2014 Toyota Corolla. The complainant refused medical attention at the time of this report.

Maverick County Daily Reports-November 19, 2017

Aggravated Assault-A female complainant reported she was assaulted by a two known males and two known females while attending a party. The complainant further told deputies she had sustained injuries after being kicked several times. This case is under investigation.

Wanted Persons-A County unit responded to the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 this evening after agents detained two male subjects  whose background checks revealed open warrants for their arrest. A warrant out of Hidalgo County for Alejandro Solis was confirmed, as was one out Bexar County for Jeremy Isaac Saldivar. The two were transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.


Maverick County Daily Reports-November 18, 2017

DWI-Deputies on patrol this morning arrested a male subject identified as Jose Angel Solis after a stop for a minor infraction revealed he was driving while intoxicated. Mr. Solis was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 


Burglary of Vehicle-A resident on the 700 block of Cedro reported unknown subject(s) had broken the window to her vehicle, taking a wallet containing money and credentials. A report was filed. 


Maverick County Daily Reports-November 17, 2017

Theft-Deputies met with a complainant who reported unknown subject(s) had taken a generator from the bed of his Ford F-250.

Assault with a Motor Vehicle-A complainant reported a verbal confrontation led to an unknown female striking his PT Cruiser several times. A formal report was filed.  

Assault/Family Violence-A deputy patrolling Rosita Valley Road this afternoon made contact with a female subject who advised a verbal argument with her common law husband turned into a physical confrontation. The female refused medical attention and a report was filed. 

Possession of a controlled substance-Deputies responded to a disturbance on the 200 block of Santa Fe Trail this afternoon after a female subject reported an argument with her husband. Contact was made with the husband, identified as Sergio Saldivar, who in the midst of pat down, was found to be in possession of three baggies containing synthetic marijuana. Mr. Saldivar was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 


Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-Units responded to Rosita Gardens after a 2001 Ford Explorer had veered off the road onto a dirt slop. Deputies spoke with Tribal Police officers at the scene, who reported finding a male subject in an intoxicated state outside the vehicle upon arrival at the scene. While being taken into custody, Jorge Trevino was also found to be in possession of marijuana. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Wanted Person-Thirty four year old Omar Solis was arrested this eveing after a stop by United States Border Patrol agents revealed an active warrant for his arrest. Deputies arrived to confirm the warrant and Mr. Solis was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Maverick County Daily Reports-November 16, 2017

Assault/Terroristic Threat-A complainant reported that he was physically assaulted by a known male subject who was repossessing his vehicle.

Information Report-A unit responded to Rosita Valley Road this afternoon after a male subject was found trapped under a farm tractor. EMS crews and Fire personnel were at the scene upon arrival where the subject had slipped while pushing the tractor. He was transported to the Fort Duncan Medical Center ER for injuries and lacerations sustained to the head, arms, shoulder, and knees. The Texas Department of Public Safety arrived at the location and has since taken over the investigation.

Information Report-Deputies were dispatched to Hopedale Road this afternoon whereupon arrival observed a 2012 motorcycle on the side of the road. Contact was made with the operator, who reported he lost control of the motorcycle before it veered off the road. EMS crews were summoned to the scene and the occupants were transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Public Intoxication-Deputies arrested a male subject identified as Gilberto Saucedo, Jr. this evening after he was found in an intoxicated state. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Burglary of Habitation-A resident on Dalia Street reported an unknown subject(s) had gained entry into his residence and took a television set without consent.

Wanted Person-A traffic stop conducted on Del Rio Blvd. this evening resulted in the arrest of the driver after a check revealed an active warrant. The warrant for Abelardo Reyes was confirmed and Mr. Reyes was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-A background check conducted a male subject this morning revealed an active warrant out of Bexar County. The warrant for Edward Garza, Jr. was confirmed and Mr. Garza was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Identification Theft-A complainant reported she had received a letter from the IRS advising her she needed to pay taxes. The complainant further reported unknown subject(s) may have been using her name and social security number without her consent. 

Family Violence/Assault-Units responded to the 600 block of Rosita Valley Road in reference to an unwanted female near the location. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female subject who advised a verbal argument with her boyfriend had turned into a physical altercation. The male subject, Martin Flores, was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Wanted Person-A traffic stop for a minor infraction on Eidson Road this evening let to the arrest of a male subject identified as Ricardo Coronado after a check revealed an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant was confirmed and Mr. Coronado was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle-Units responded to the 2900 block of Lindbergh Circle where a complainant reported an unknown subject had gained entry and took a 2005 Saturn Vue without her consent. A formal complaint was filed.

Wanted Person-Elizabeth Alejandra Jimenez was arrested early this afternoon after being detained by Border Patrol agents when a check revealed an active warrant for her arrest. The warrant was confirmed and Ms. Jimenez was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Maverick County Daily Reports-November 09, 2017

Theft/Public Intoxication-Units responding to a theft in progress on Sotelo Circle this morning made contact with a complainant when she reported a known male subject had taken her purse without her consent. Jesus Fidencio Rodriguez, the male subject in question, was found in possession of the purse outside of the residence. While at the scene, Mr. Rodriguez displayed bloodshot eyes, a slurred speech, and an unknown alcoholic odor emitting from his person. He would be taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Deputies arrested a female subject identified as Brenda Alaniz at the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on FM2644 this afternoon after initially being detained when a check revealed an active warrant. The warrant out of Hidalgo County was confirmed and the twenty-one year old Alaniz was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Theft-A complainant reported a three horse trailer parked outside the Maverick County Showbarn had been taken without his consent. A report was filed.

Theft-A County Road and Bridge employee performing maintenance work this morning near the intersection of Merida and Albores reported a male subject in a red Jeep had stopped at the location and took an orange and white weed eater belonging to the department. A report was filed.

Wanted Person-Deputies arrested a male subject identified  as Jose Guillermo Reyes at the international port of entry #2 this afternoon after CBP agents detained him when a check revealed an active warrant. The warrant out of Bexar County was confirmed and Mr. Reyes was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Maverick County Daily Reports-November 05, 2017

Assault/Family Violence-Deputies responded to the 1500 block of Follow Lane after a complainant reported a verbal argument with a known male subject escalated into a physical confrontation. The complainant wished to file a report.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-A county unit responded to the international port of entry #2 after CBP agents at the port detained a male subject when he was found to be in possession of a green leafy substance. The substance would test positive for marijuana and the subject, identified as Isaac Guana-Lopez was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Driving While Intoxicated-Deputies on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Toyota Tacoma for a minor violation. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Manrique Fuentes, who displayed signs of intoxication. He was placed under arrest on DWI charges and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Deputies took Santamaria Barrera into custody at the port of entry when a check revealed active warrants for her arrest. The warrants out of Matagorda County and Wilson County were confirmed and Ms. Barrera was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Disorderly Conduct-Units responded to Eidson Road by Panchito's Supermarket in reference to a disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, contact was made with a group of subjects at the scene who stated they were at a family gathering when two females at the party got into an argument. The argument led to a physical altercation in which both females, identified as Linda Jimenez and Hilda Miranda, admitted to being involved in the altercation. The two were placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

DWLI-Maribel Alvarez was arrested after a stop on a minor traffic violation revealed Alvarez had  been operating the vehicle with an invalid license. She was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

DWI with a Child Passenger-A County unit on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a 2012 Dodge Avenger for a minor traffic infraction, whereupon contact was made with the driver, identified as Maty Rodriguez. Ms. Rodriguez emitted a strong alcoholic odor from her person, bloodshot eyes, and a slurred speech. She agreed to a field sobriety test, which indicated poor results. Because of her poor performance and the danger she posed to the motoring public, Ms. Rodriguez was placed under arrest on DWI charges. An eight year old son was also in the vehicle at the time of the vehicle, however, he was turned over to his grandmother at the scene. Ms. Rodriguez was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing and the vehicle was impounded by a local wrecker service.

Wanted Person-Deputies were dispatched to the international port of entry #1 after agents at the port detained a male subject with an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant out of Dallas County was confirmed and deputies arrested Elidio Deltoro, who was then trasnsported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.


Maverick County Daily Reports-November 04, 2017

Assault-Deputies met with a complainant on the 1300 block of Erline Drive after she reported the father of her child physically assaulted her. The male subject in question left the area prior to a deputie's arrival.

Hit and Run-A resident on the 200 block of Balcones Heights reported an unknown vehicle had struck their 2013 Kia at an unknown date and time, causing damages to the rear of the vehicle.

Theft-A complainant reported a known male subject had entered his work place and took several items without consent. A report was filed.

Driving with an invalid license-Cesar Arturo Garcia was placed under arrest after a traffic stop for a minor infraction revealed his license had been invalidated. Mr. Garcia was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Maverick County Daily Reports-November 03, 2017

Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon-Units responded to Guisseppi Street early this morning, where contact was made with four individuals at the scene  who reported three male subjects wearing ski masks attempted to sell them drugs. They further stated two of the subjects displayed handguns towards the individual and shot in the air several times before leaving the location. This case is under investigation.

Information Report-Deputies were dispatched to Highway 277 North in Quemado, Texas this morning after the driver of a 2016 Freightliner may have fallen asleep behind the wheel, causing him to veer onto an empty lot. Thirty-two year old Jean Change Cadet from Florida, who was travelling southbound at the time, was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further evaluation. The Texas Department of Public Safety was the scene at has since taken over the investigation.

Wanted Person-Sergio Mares was taken into custody at the international port of entry #2 this morning when a check revealed an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant was confirmed and Mr. Mares was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-A deputy made contact with a male subject on Steven Drive whose check revealed an active warrant for his arrest. Israel Galvan was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Deputies on patrol this evening arrested a male subject identified as Jose Luis Aguilera after a check revealed an active warrant for his arrest. Mr. Aguilera was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Genaro Varela, Jr. was placed under arrest after being detained by CBP agents at the port of entry when a check revealed an active warrant. The out of state arrest warrant out of the Saint Clare Sheriff's Office was confirmed and Mr. Varela was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.


Hit and Run-Units responded to Las Quintas Blvd. by Rafael Street this evening after a tractor trailer reported being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Upon arrival, deputies observed rear end damages to the trailer and began a search of the area, which led to the discovery of an unoccupied 2001 GMC Yuukon with front end damages block away from the scene. The Yukon was impounded at the Maverick County Sheriff's Offfice for further investigation. The occupants of the tractor trailer refused medical service at the time of the report.

Maverick County Daily Reports-November 02, 2017

Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle-A complainant on US Highway 277 North reported unknown subjects had entered his property and took parked Mazda Tribute with keys in the ignition without his consent. Several packs of beer had also gone missing. A Report was filed.

Deceased Person-A County unit responded to the 2600 block of Yucca Circle this morning, where EMS crews at the scene advised a male subject at the residence had been found unresponsive. Justice of the Peace Castaneda was at the location to pronounce the male subject deceased at approximately 10:19 AM.

Disorderly Conduct- Brother and sister Miguel Angel and Tammy Hernandez were taken into custody this morning after deputies responded to calls of a disturbance in progress between the two. They were then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon-Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Marissa Street this evening where contact was made with a male subject found with a laceration to his mouth area. The victim, identified as Isabel Zapata, reported a known male aggressor had struck him with an aluminum tube before leaving the scene. After a search of the area, deputies identified Juan Mata Gonzalez as the aggressor and took him into custody before transporting him to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Recovered Lost Item-Contact was made with Border Patrol agents this evening after it was reported they had come across an abandoned pistol while conducting a training by the Lehman Ranch. The Beretta .40 caliber pistol was checked and cleared and taken to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office evidence locker for safe keeping.

Wanted Person-Deputies arrest Ricardo Sandate this morning after a check revealed an active warrant out of Bexar County. The warrant was confirmed and Mr. Sandate was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle-Deputies were dispatched to the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 north this afternoon after a vehicle reported stolen out of Travis County was detected. The driver of the vehicle identified as Elizabeth Diane De Los Santos was arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. The vehicle, a 2004 Nissan Titan, was impounded and taken to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office.

Wanted Person-Jennifer Denise Avila was taken into custody at the international port of entry #1 after agents at the port detained her when a check revealed an active warrant for her arrest. The warrant out of Webb County was confirmed and Ms. Avila was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Burglary of Building-A resident on the 1800 block of Bianca Drive reported several unknown actor(S) gained entry to his storage building and took several items without consent. A reported was filed.

Wanted Person-Mario Ramos, Jr. was taken into custody at the US Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 this morning after being detained by agents when a check revealed an active warrant for his arrest out of Maverick County. The warrant was confirmed and Mr. Ramos was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Criminal Mischief-A complainant on Linda Circle reported unknown actor(s) had broken the rear window to his Chevrolet pickup truck. A report was filed.

Wanted Person-Contact was made with US Border Patrol agents this evening after they detained a female subject whose background check revealed several warrants for her arrests. Warrants out of Williamson, DeWitt, and Victoria County were confirmed for the subject, identified as Erika Marie Lyman. Deputies took custody of Ms. Lyman and transported her to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Assault/Family Violence-A unit responded to the 3400 block of Del Rio Blvd. this evening after a complainant reported an altercation at the location in which she was struck in the leg. Twenty four year old Juan Mauricio Ramos was arrested at the scene and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
