Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-At approximately 12:04 PM, units were dispatched to the 200 block of View Drive in Chula Vista after a homeowner reported an anomaly in her trailer. Deputies arrived at the scene and made contact with the homeowner who stated that while cleaning the yard, she noticed the lock to her travel trailer had been undone. She also stated that upon entering the trailer, she spotted several rectangular bundles located in the front and the rear of the trailer. The owner had not given permission to store the bundles and how no idea how they arrived to the location.
Deputies entered the trailer and recovered five large bundles containing a green leafy substance wrapped in black plastic bags. The bundles were transported to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office where the substance later tested for marijuana and weighed a total of 338 pounds. The bundles were tagged and entered into evidence room for safekeeping.
