Disorderly Conduct-Deputies responded to the 1500 block of Valarie Drive after a concerned citizen called to report a possible family violence occurring at an apartment complex at said location. Deputies were advised yelling could be heard coming from an upstairs unit. Upon arrival, they made contact with Alfonso Vega Noriega, who appeared to be under in the influence of alcohol. Upon entering the apartment, deputies found that Mr. Noriega had earlier thrown several household items to the floor. Mr. Noriega was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.
Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to US Highway 57, mile marker 290 in reference to a motor vehicle accident. Deputies arrived at the scene to find an 18-wheeler had jackknifed off of the side of the road, landing on its right side. The driver of the vehicle refused medical attention and the Texas Department of Public Safety has since taken over the investigation.
Theft over $20,000 and under $100,000-A deputy was dispatched to the international Port of Entry #1 in reference to a possible theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with CBP agents, who stated that two females in a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup were sent to secondary inspection after the vehicle came back as reported stolen. Further investigations revealed that the two females, along with a male subject who claimed ownership of the vehicle, attempted to sell the truck in Mexico. This case has been turned over to Maverick County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Unit.
