Daily Reports-January 02, 2022

Burglary of Building-A deputy responded to the 900 block of Hopedale Loop this morning, where a complainant reported unknown subject(s) had gained entry to his storage unit and took valuable items without consent. A formal report was filed. 

Public Intoxication-Twenty-one year old Presley Estrada was taken into custody this afternoon after a deputy conducting a traffic stop found him displaying signs of intoxication and being under the influence of an unknown substance. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Daily Reports-January 01, 2022

Aggravated Assault with a Motor Vehicle-A unit responded to the 2300 block of Barrera Street this afternoon, where a female complainant reported a known female subject had arrived at the location and began arguing. The complainant further stated the subject had left the location in a Ford Taurus only to turn around and intentionally ram into her 2004 Dodge Durango. The subject then fled the scene in an unknown location and a formal report was filed.

Criminal Mischief, Assault/Family Violence-Deputies this morning arrested thirty year old Raul Adrian Sanchez after he rushed at his father and assaulted him with a closed fist. Sanchez had reportedly already shattered some windows to the residence with rocks and had damaged a 2020 Ford Fusion prior to deputies' arrival.  He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Daily Reports-December 30, 2021

Assault/Family Violence-Units responded to Ranchitos Road this morning in response to a possible disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, contact was made with several subjects who advised they had been involved in a physical altercation. A female subject further stated her boyfriend had assaulted her family members before leaving the scene. The subject, twenty-seven year old Ramiro Marquez was detained while attempting to leave the area and was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Daily Reports-December 29, 2021

Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transport/Disorderly Conduct/Public Intoxication-Deputies responded to the 4100 block of Buck Drive shortly after 12 AM this morning in regards to a large gathering near the location. Upon arrival, deputies attempted to make contact with the property owner, in where a highly intoxicated 16 year old male juvenile then began acting in a combative state towards deputies. The 16 year old was promptly detained and a second subject seen walking from the gathering was taken into custody after being found in an intoxicated state. Deputies then advised a third subject at the location was attempting to leave in his Chevrolet S10 despite deputy requests and commands to stop and exit the vehicle. Deputies were then forced to use excessive force in order to subdue the subject  after he pulled away from deputies when they attempted to arrest and search him. He was also taken into custody on charges of public intoxication and resisting arrest.

Wanted Person-Deputies this afternoon made contact with city of Eagle Pass Police officers on US Highway 277 north after they had detained a male subject with an active warrant out of Maverick County. The subject, twenty-six year old Ismael Morales, was taken into custody after the warrant was confirmed. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Reckless Driving-Twenty-one year old Laron Johnson was placed under arrest this afternoon after deputies observed him driving along North Veteran's Blvd. in a wreckless manner. Johnson was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 






Daily Reports-December 28, 2021

Theft-A deputy this morning made contact with a complainant who reported unknown subject(s) had taken his company vehicle without consent. The complainant further state that he had seen in the news that the vehicle, a 2004 white Chevrolet 2500, had been involved in a pursuit in recent days. This case is under investigation. 

Burglary of Vehicle-A complainant on Juan Circle told deputies unknown subject(s) entered his pickup truck without consent and took several items. A formal report was filed. 

Burglary of Building-A deputy made contact with a complainant who stated unknown subject(s) unlawfully entered a garage on his property and took several items without consent. This case is under investigation.

Aggravated Robbery-A complainant on the 1500 block of Eidson Road reported an unknown male subject arrived at his fireworks business and pointed a firearm in his direction, demanding money and fireworks. The unknown subject then took a mobile phone, a mobile phone charger, and fireworks without consent before fleeing the area. A report was taken. 

Daily Reports-December 27, 2021

Burglary of Vehicle-A resident on the 1900 block of Lewis Street reported unknown subject(s) had stripped down on of his vehicles of its parts overnight before leaving the area. A theft report was filed. 

Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle-A county unit responded to the US Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57  after agents detained a vehicle and its driver. Upon further investigation it was revealed the vehicle, a 2009 Ford Taurus, had been reported stolen out of the Austin, Texas area. Twenty-nine year old Monica Montanez, the driver of the vehicle, was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Disorderly Conduct-Deputies responded to the 200 block of Victoriano this evening, where deputies made contact with a male subject who had been highly intoxicated. The subject identified as twenty-four year old Juan Carlos Garcia began acting aggressively  towards officers attempting to detain him. He was later placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Press Release

 [Press Release]-Eagle Pass, Tx.-Investigators with the Maverick County Sheriff's Office working on a burglary of habitation case were able to recover all the items taken from a residence that was burglarized during the Christmas holidays. Among the items recovered was a .22 Winchester rifle, a .22 Heritage revolver, 10 knives, a 43 inch Television set,  and several assorted coins worth hundreds of dollars. All three suspects were identified as three juveniles and the case remains open upon further process.

Burglary of Habitation/Criminal Mischief-A deputy responded to Eidson Road early this morning in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, a male subject was apprehended attempting to leave the scene. Further investigation revealed the subject, identified as eighteen year old Erick Castro, broke a window to the home with the intention of committing theft inside the residence. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 


Daily Reports-October 06, 2021

Reckless Driving-Thirty-eight year old Mayra Morales was taken into custody early this morning after deputies observed her traveling in a 2008 BMW at a high rate of speed and passing vehicles on FM1021. She was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Possession of Marijuana, Public Intoxication-A deputy patrolling Ranchitos Road shortly after 2 AM this morning conducted a traffic stop on a 2002 Mercedes Benz for a minor violation. Contact was made the occupants of the vehicle, eighteen year old Miguel Angel Arredondo and twenty year old Axel Gael Reyes, who both appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic substance. A pat down was conducted on Mr. Arredondo, who was found in possession of a brown cigarette with marijuana characteristics. He was taken into custody on possession of marijuana charges. Mr. Reyes was also taken into custody on public intoxication charges. The pair were then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Reckless Driving-Eighteen year old Erik Vasquez was arrested this evening after he was seen driving recklessly inside of the Maverick County lake grounds. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 


Daily Reports-October 05, 2021

Possession of a Controlled Substance-Contact was made with CBP agents at the international port of entry 1 after a secondary inspection of a 2017 Nissan Altima led to the discovery of several boxes of anabolic steroids this afternoon. Approximately 1,160 pills totaling 10.34 grams were found inside a backpack and female subject identified as twenty-six year old Stephanie Rodriguez was taken into custody. This case is under investigation. 

 Criminal Mischief-A complainant on Erika Street reported a male subject caused intentional damages to his wooden picket fence while attempting to trespass onto his property. Contact was made with the subject identified as thirty year old Ricardo Coronado, who appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Deceased Person-A unit responded to Comanche Ranch on US Highway 277 East this morning whereupon arrival, encountered the body of a male subject who was later identified as a male Mexican national. A local funeral home was contacted to take custody of the body. 

Wanted Person-Thirty-eight year old Ricardo Macias was taken into custody this morning after a traffic stop revealed an active warrant for his arrest out of the Maverick County Sheriff's Office. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.  

Daily Reports-October 03, 2021

Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle-A deputy on patrol attempted to make a traffic stop on a Dodge Ram at the intersection of Brown Street and Eidson Road early this morning for a minor infraction. The driver, however, refused to stop and led deputies on a pursuit through several streets inside of the city limits before coming to a complete stop on Loop 480. Several subjects exited the vehicle, running towards the river area The driver and front passenger, eighteen year olds Juan Acosta and Michael Escobar were arrested at the scene. Four undocumented subjects were apprehended with the assistance of City of Eagle Pass Police officers and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and turned over to Border Patrol custody.

Wanted Subject-A deputy on FM 2030 this morning made contact with a female subject identified as Erika Campuzano, whose background check revealed an active warrant for her arrest. She was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance-A deputy patrolling Eidson Road this evening was waved down in reference to a possible disturbance. Upon making contact with a male subject, it was revealed he had a usable amount of cocaine in his possession. Thirty-three year old Edward Castillo was then placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 


Daily Reports-October 02, 2021

Burglary of Vehicle-A resident on the 3700 block of Tina reported unknown subject(s) had entered his vehicle without his consent and took several tools worth approximately $1,000.00. A formal report was filed. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance-Deputies responded to the 1500 block of Fallow Lane this afternoon after a 911 call had hung up. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with thirty-one year old Amanda Lizette Olivares, who was upset and was arguing with her parents. While speaking to deputies, Ms. Olivares dropped a clear plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance out of her left pocket. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. The substance would test positive for .81g of cocaine and was placed in the evidence locker. 

Burglary of Habitation-A unit was dispatched to the 1200 block of Antelope Drive this afternoon after a homeowner reported he had found his residence ransacked. Several appliances were reported missing and formal report was filed.

Daily Reports-October 01, 2021

Public Intoxication-Deputies on patrol this morning conducted a traffic stop on a 1999 Ford Expedition for a minor infraction. Contact was made with the driver, twenty-seven year old Vancing Suke, who displayed signs of intoxication.  Mr. Suke admitted to consuming several alcoholic beverages prior to the stop. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance-A unit responded to the international port of entry 1 this afternoon where agents advised they had detained a male subject who was found in possession of a controlled substance. The subject, thirty-two year old Gerardo Morales Duran was travelling in a 2005 F-150 when a secondary inspection yielded the discovery of  several boxes of trenbolong acetate(approximately 1,500mg of steroids) in the trunk. Duran was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Daily Reports-September 30, 2021

Resisting Arrest, Search or Transport/Possession of a Controlled Substance-Deputies responded to Six Shooter Road shortly after midnight in regards to an intoxicated male subject. Contact was made with a male subject later identified as thirty-eight year old Michael De Hoyos, who appeared to be under the influence of an unknown subject. While attempting a pat down, Mr. De Hoyos pulled away from officers, attempting to resist arrest. He was eventually placed in restraints, and after a pat down, was found in possession of a baggie containing a white crystalized substance with characteristics of methamphetamine (2.4g). He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.  

Wanted Person-A unit was dispatched to the US Border Patrol south station this morning after agents advised they had detained a male subject whose background check revealed an active warrant for his arrest. A check revealed the subject identified as Wilbur Cruz Gomez had an active warrant out of North Carolina on sexual assault charges. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center. 

Daily Reports-September 29, 2021

Possession of a Controlled Substance/Public Intoxication-Deputes this morning arrested Juan F. Del Bosque after he had approached them and displayed signs of intoxication. Mr. Del Bosque, who posed a risk to himself,  was taken into custody and was found to be in possession of Xanax upon entering the jail.

Possession of a Controlled Substance-A traffic stop on North Veterans Blvd. this morning led to the arrest of twenty-three year old Elias Briones after he was found in possession of cocaine. Briones was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 


Theft
-A complainant on Eidson Road reported unknown subject(s) had taken a box trailer from his company yard without consent. A formal report was filed. 

Assault on a Public Servant-a correctional officer at the Tom Bowles Detention Center reported he had been assaulted by an inmate while performing routing checks inside the jail cell. The subject struck the officer with a closed fist in the facial area, causing lacerations to the lip area. He was charged with assault. A formal report was filed. 

Information Report-A property owner on Mirasol reported she had observed smoke coming from the attic area of her residence. Moments later, the residence caught fire. Eagle Pass Fire Department crews arrived at the location to safely extinguish the fire. Further investigation revealed electric wiring in the attic may have caused the fire. No injuries were reported at the time of the report. 

Information Report-Contact was made with a driver on US highway 57tihs evening, who reported his Dodge Ram 2500 had been towing a gooseneck trailer when he noticed smoke coming from underneath the truck and from the hood area. Moments later, the vehicle caught fire and the occupants managed to safely exit the pickup. Eagle Pass Fire crews were summoned to the location to safely extinguish the fire. 

Warrant-Units responded to Encuentro in regards to a disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male subject identified as thirty-five year old Francisco Javier Esquivel, whose background check revealed an active warrant for his arrest out of the Maverick County Sheriff's Department on fraud charges. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Resisting Arrest-A unit responded to the 100 block of Pino Street this evening in reference to a possible disturbance in progress. Contact was made with thirty-one year old David Garcia upon arrival, who refused to follow deputy orders several times. Mr. Garcia then became combative when deputies attempted to detain him. He was eventually subdued and taken into custody before being transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Daily Reports-September 27, 2021

Assault/Family Violence, Disorderly Conduct-Units responded to the 2100 block of Coyunda this afternoon where a complainant reported she had been involved in an altercation with her husband, which led to her being struck with a closed fist. Medical attention was denied at the time of the report and the female complainant declined to file a report. Deputies later responded to the same location and forty-one year old Israel Trevino was placed under arrest on disorderly conduct charges after he was verbally abusive to his wife and twenty-four year old stepson. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Disorderly Conduct/Assault on a Public Servant-Deputies responded to a possible disturbance on Abeto Circle this evening. Investigations at the scene revealed a male subject, later identified as thirty-two year old Raul Fernandez, had been aggressive towards several individuals at the location in an attempt to initiate confrontation. Fernandez was placed under arrest, along with a female relative who assaulted deputies while Mr. Fernandez was being escorted to a patrol unit. The pair were then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Aggravated Assault/Wanted Subject-A unit was dispatched to Rosita Valley Road this evening in regards to an assault. Contact was made with Kickapoo Tribal Police officers upon arrival, who advised a fight between two subjects had occurred at the location. A complainant then reported he had been assaulted by a known male subject who had struck him in the face with a metal subject. The assailant, forty year old Juan Carlos Torres, was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. A check on Torres also revealed an active warrant out of Bexar County on DWI charges.

Daily Reports-September 26, 2021

Driving While Intoxicated/Public Intoxication-A unit responded to Memo Robinson Road this morning, whereupon arrival observed a 2015 Chrysler 200 with sustained front end damages up against a fence line.  Further investigation revealed the driver had lost control of the vehicle, causing him to strike the fence. Contact was made with the driver, twenty-one year old Christian Sanchez and a nineteen year old passenger identified as Noemi Martinez. Both subject displayed signs of intoxication at the time of contact and were taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. The pair refused medical attention at the time of the report. 

Driving While Intoxicated-Forty-six year old Pedro Pastrano was taken into custody on DWI charges this morning after displaying signs of intoxication during a traffic stop early this morning. Mr. Pastrano also admitted to having consumed alcohol prior the stop. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Driving While Intoxicated-A deputy patrolling La Herradura this morning conducted a traffic stop on a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado after it was seen dragging a chainlink fence under its rear tire. Contact was made with the driver, twenty-eight year old Emmanuel Castillo, who displayed signs of intoxication and admitted to having consumed alcohol. Castillo was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Driving While Intoxicated/Evading Arrest w/ a Motor Vehicle-Deputies on patrol this morning attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2011 Ford Edge for a minor infraction. Deputies reported observing the vehicle displayed front end damages and was dragging the front bumper. Emergency lights were activated, however, the driver of the Edge refused to yield and a brief pursuit ensued before the vehicle came to a complete stop. Contact was made with the driver, twenty-five year old Daisy Adanary Martinez, along with a female passenger. Ms. Martinez displayed signs of intoxication and a strong alcohol odor emitting from her person. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing EMT crews were summoned to the location after her passenger failed to respond and began vomiting profusely. 

Deceased Person-A unit responded to a residence on Alamo Street this morning after a complainant reported she had found her eighty-four year old father unresponsive in his bedroom. EMT crews arrived at the scene and reported the subject had no vital signs. A Justice of the Peace pronounced the male subject deceased. 

 Deceased Person-A resident on Cedro Street reported she had found her seventy-eight year old father unresponsive in his bedroom. EMT crews were contacted an arrived at the location, where they stated the body displayed no vital signs. A Justice of the Peace pronounced the body deceased. 

Wanted Person-Thirty-seven year old Sara Barajas Sanchez was arrested at the international port of entry 1this morning after agents at the port detained her after a background check revealed an active warrant. The warrant out of the US Marshals Service was confirmed and she was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing.  

Deceased Person-Units responded to the Rio Grande River this evening after Border Patrol agents reported they located the body of an undocumented subject floating in the river showing no signs of life. The body was retrieved from the river by agents and fire department crews. A Justice of the Peace pronounced the unidentified subject deceased. A formal report was filed.
