Daily Reports-January 31, 2021

 Possession of a Controlled Substance-A unit responded to the international port of entry 2 shortly after 12:30 AM this morning after agents at the port reported they had detained a female subject in possession of narcotics. Upon arrival, agents further stated a secondary inspection yielded the discovery of a crystal like substance with methamphetamine characteristics and 3 glass pipes. Thirty-three year old Vanessa Marie Cordova took ownership of the substance, which would later test positive for approximately 1.38 grams of methamphetamine.  Cordova was then placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing. The narcotics and paraphernalia were taken into custody and placed in the evidence locker. 

Wanted Person-CBP agents at the international port of entry 1 this morning detained a male subject identified as twenty year old Charles Nicholas Ortiz Gonzalez after a background check revealed a warrant for his arrest. The warrant on robbery charges was confirmed and Ortiz was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Deceased Person-Units responded to the Rio Grande near Leahman Ranch Road this afternoon after Border Patrol agents performing routine boat patrol came across the body of a male subject floating in the river. A Justice of the Peace was summoned to the scene and pronounced the subject deceased. An autopsy was also ordered to determine the cause of death.

Assault/Family Violence-Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Ranchitos Road this afternoon, where a female subject reported she had been assaulted after a verbal argument with her husband turned into a physical altercation. Upon arrival at the location, deputies observed visible injuries to the victim's  facial area. Her husband, twnety-two year old Daniel Delgado, Jr. was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Wanted Person-Twenty-four year old Blanca Sarai Hernandez was taken into custody at the international port of entry 2 this evening after a check revealed an open warrant for her arrest. Deputies arriving at the location confirmed the warrant out of Bexar County on assault with a deadly weapon charges. Ms. Hernandez was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
